The Maybank Photography Awards (MPA) was established on the belief that images speak to us in a way that transcends language, socioeconomic and cultural barriers. In
2012, we received 20,000 submissions — a number which more than tripled to 67,000 from nine Asean countries in 2013. Themed ‘Inspiring Asia’, the Awards attracted
participants with very high quality work. Submissions were assessed by renowned judges such as Ming Thein, Raghu Rai and Mike Yamashita, and the winners were from four
different countries.
