About this programme
The eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN (eYAA) flagship programme harnesses the potential of young leaders to deliver meaningful and sustainable impact across communities where Maybank operates. Established through a strategic partnership between Maybank Foundation and the ASEAN Foundation, it was launched at the 51st ASEAN Day in 2018 and formalised with a three-year Memorandum of Agreement in 2019.
eYAA aims to cultivate socially responsible youth leaders by fostering cross-cultural collaboration, capacity building, and immersive community engagement. The programme’s core objective is to support inclusive and sustainable community development by connecting youth with civil society organisations and social enterprises to co-create grassroots solutions that address real community needs.
Through this platform, young changemakers are empowered to lead initiatives focused on environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and innovation, reflecting ASEAN’s regional priorities, including the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025, and contributing to global development goals such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals. By strengthening leadership skills and fostering lifelong connections across cultures, eYAA prepares youth to be catalysts for positive, long-term change at both local and regional levels.
