Since 1988, Balai Seni Maybank has embodied this spirit. As one of Malaysia’s earliest corporate galleries, it has been more than an exhibition space; it has been a home for artists, a stage for dialogue, and a sanctuary where heritage meets innovation. Over the years, Balai Seni has grown into a dynamic hub, championing Malaysia & ASEAN’s cultural legacy while embracing new artistic expressions.

Building on this foundation, Maybank Foundation introduced the Balai Seni Art Series (BSAS) Programme to bring structure, scale, and sustainability to this vision. BSAS curates exhibitions, nurtures talent, and fosters cultural exchange, ensuring that art remains accessible to communities and continues to thrive as part of everyday life.

Over the years and as at June 2025, Balai Seni and BSAS have supported more than 6,746 artists and beneficiaries through over 40 exhibitions, a legacy of impact that continues to grow. As our CEO of Maybank Foundation, Ms Izlyn Ramli, reflects: “As a leading advocate for arts and culture within the community, we have consistently championed local and ASEAN artisans through the Maybank Foundation Balai Seni Art Series Programme.”

Today, the Balai Seni Art Series (BSAS) continue to evolve into a living platform where heritage meets innovation; uplifting aspiring artists from Malaysia and across ASEAN, while weaving stronger connections between art, community, and cultural identity. Its journey continues, nurturing the next generation of creators, safeguarding traditions, and shaping shared experiences that move and inspire us all.
