eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN Programme Cohort 3

To equip and inspire ASEAN youth by providing a platform to learn, contribute and advocate solutions.

Cohort 3 Summary Performance

From a total of 2,207 applications across all 10 ASEAN countries, 108 youths were selected to join Cohort 3. Unlike Cohort 2, which relied on a hybrid model during the pandemic, Cohort 3 marked a full return to onsite project implementation in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and for the first time, Singapore. In total, the 10 projects reached and positively impacted 21,629 individuals across these community.

CAMBODIA | Phnom Penh: “Community Mural” by Cambodian’s Children Fund

PROJECT SCOPE:

  1. Enhanced youth development through collaborative mural painting
  2. Conducted structured art workshops
  3. Provided access to art education for underprivileged children

CAMBODIA | Battambang: “Green Jobs” by Impact Hub Phnom Penh

PROJECT SCOPE:

  1. Conducted field visits to local entrepreneurs
  2. Organised Climathon for problem–solving on climate issues
  3. Supported youth-led projects on green jobs in their home countries

PROJECT SCOPE:

  1. Trained and supported youth to design local initiatives addressing social issues
  2. Developed proposals and pitched 10 impactful ideas
  3. Adapted training modules into online courses through AYO Academy to reach wider audiences

INDONESIA | East Nusa Tenggara: “Tenun.in Belu” by Insan Bumi Mandiri

PROJECT SCOPE:

  1. Provided training to improve weaving skills
  2. Established a weaving centre with proper tools
  3. Supported weavers with social media, financial records, and e-learning records

  2. Installed handwashing stations and conducted workshops in schools
  3. Expanded WASH-ed outreach to other school divisions
